Adventure Playground Closure Notice

Due to persistent heavy rain and poor ground conditions, our Adventure Playground will remain closed for the initial week of the upcoming Easter Holidays. This decision has been made in the interest of prioritising visitor safety, as the ground conditions have prevented us from carrying out essential repairs and maintenance.

We understand that this news may be disappointing, but there are still plenty of exciting things to do here at Grimsthorpe!

What can I do this Easter?

Visit on Easter Sunday and join our Storyteller as he regales classic folk tales and songs. Stories will be told in the gardens at 11am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm and are approximately 40 minutes long. Included in your Park & Garden ticket.

On Easter Monday you can view and partake in various Tudor Dances, followed by a Q&A session in the Vanbrugh Hall inside the Castle. In between performances the Tudors will be wandering the grounds for meet and greets. Included in your Castle, Park & Garden ticket.

From Thursday 28th March to Sunday 14th April, we invite you to take part in our Baby Animal Easter trail through the gardens. Just £1 per entry and each entry receives a chocolate prize!

As well as this, you can indulge in tasty refreshments from The March Hare tea trailer, explore the Arts & Memory Collection exhibition in The Walled Garden, discover up to 9 miles of scenic cycling and walking trails, play croquet in the gardens or rounders on the lawns.

Events and other news

Excitingly, this year we have opened a new room on our visitors route inside the Castle, The Prince Regent Bedroom, and you can now admire views to the lake from the window.

As the season goes on, please keep your eyes peeled for lots of exciting events to come including outdoor cinema, an ABBA tribute concert, ‘Little Women’ outdoor theatre and our ‘Military Lives’ exhibition, opening in July.

Thank you
