Dog Walking

Dogs are welcome at Grimsthorpe. There are plenty of lovely places to walk your dog, including a lakeside walk and a woodland walk. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. If you are a regular dog walker, buying a Season Ticket is a great idea, as you can visit the park as often as you like, for as long as you like!

Dogs on a lead are very welcome:

  • In the Parkland (lots of acres to explore!)
  • In the Gardens

We advise to not bring dogs:

  • In the Castle (apart from guide dogs, who are welcome)
  • In the Kitchen Garden
  • In the Adventure Playground
  • In any areas where there are cattle

By cleaning up after your dog you will also ensure that other visitors’ enjoyment of the park is not spoilt.

If you can’t find the dog water bowl at our visitor entrance, ask at the Ticket Hut and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Dog walking is a regular sight in the park and we are delighted that people and their dogs can enjoy the open space, however, due to wildlife on site and for the safety of others, we ask that visitors please keep their dogs on a lead at all times. We also ask that dogs are not left in your car in the car park in hot weather.
