Halloween Fun at Grimsthorpe


Visit Grimsthorpe during October Half Term for spooky family fun!

 

Take part in the Wicked Woodland Walk, book onto a Spooky Tour with the Storyteller, speak to our Room Stewards to hear gruesome Grimsthorpe ‘facts’, and visit on Sunday 27 for Crime and Punishment day with the Tudors!

 

Pick up a freshly-brewed coffee and a hot snack from The March Hare Tea Trailer and set off across the fallen, golden leaves, or sit and enjoy in our indoor seating area.

 

Open from 10.30am – 5pm from Sunday 20 to Thursday 24, and Sunday 27 October.

 

Spooky Tours with the Storyteller must be booked online, this includes HH and Season Ticket Holders (FOC)

Sunday 20 October


  • Park & Gardens open 10.30am-5pm (please note the Parkland is restricted access and only the lake walk will be accessible).
  • Castle open free-flow from 12pm for horrible tales from Grimsthorpe’s history. Optional (normal) tours at 12.30pm and 2pm, can be booked only on arrival at the Ticket Hut.
  • Wicked Woodland Walk Trail (£1 from the Ticket Hut)

Monday 21 October


  • Park & Gardens open 10.30am-5pm (please note the Parkland is restricted access and only the lake walk will be accessible).
  • Castle open free-flow from 12pm for horrible tales from Grimsthorpe’s history. Optional (normal) tours at 12.30pm and 2pm, can be booked only on arrival at the Ticket Hut.

Tuesday 22 October

  • Spooky Castle Tours led by Storyteller Mark Fraser. (11am, 1pm and 3pm. Tours of up to 14 people, not suitable for children under 6 years of age).
  • Spooky Tours are free of charge (included in the price of your ticket) but MUST be booked online!
  • Wicked Woodland Walk Trail (£1 from the Ticket Hut)

Wednesday 23 October

Crime and Punishment Tudor Day!

  • Come and hear gruesome and grisly tales of crime and punishment during the Tudor period! His Majesty King Henry VIII will regale his favourite punishment methods and male executions, the laws he introduced and the truth behind some of those famous beheadings…
  • Included in your Castle, Park & Gardens ticket
  • Talk/presentation at 12pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm in the Vanbrugh Hall
  • Meet and greet in the grounds in between the presentations with Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, Catherine Howard and Margaret Pole who will be sharing their own execution stories!
