Discover a remarkable collection of art, furniture, sculpture and porcelain within the Grade-I listed Castle. Including one of the largest collections of royal thrones outside the Royal Palaces, acquired by the Willoughby family through the hereditary role of Lord Great Chamberlain.
Park & Gardens

Explore the 3000-acre parkland, where you can discover a host of wildlife, a lake and medieval woodland. The Grade-I listed gardens are a delight in all seasons and lead to the Walled Garden where we showcase a contemporary exhibition from the Lettering Arts Trust.
Adventure Playground

Children will have hours of fun exploring and playing in the Woodland Adventure Playground.
Conquer new heights on multiple climbing frames, test your balance on rope walks and feel the wind in your hair on the zip wire! Parents can join in the fun on the adult ‘trim trail’.
The Grand Tour Exhibition
Thursday 01 – Tuesday 27 May
View the works of Robert G Mayston. Famed for his pen and inks of highland wildlife, Robert has painted commissions for the Royal Navy, RAF and most recently for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II which is now part of the Royal Collection hung in the ballroom at Balmoral Castle.

Storyteller
Monday 05 May
Join our resident Storyteller, in the Adventure Playground. Mark writes and creates his own stories, as well as adapting classic folk tales and songs. Stories will be told at 11am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm and are approximately 40 minutes long.

World Topiary Day
Sunday 18 May
Celebrating topiary and inspiring keen gardeners to adopt topiary’s style and structure within their own gardens. Our gardeners will be onsite throughout the day, engaging with visitors and answering questions.

Ultra Marathon
Saturday 24 / Sunday 25 May
A multi distance event of solo and team races. Expect a mix of estate roads, limestone tracks and grass trails. Spectators welcome on Saturday but the Castle and Gardens will be closed. £5 car park fee per car for spectators.
Open as usual on Sunday, Castle, Park & Gardens prices apply.
May Bank Holiday

The Castle, Park & Gardens are open 10am to 5pm for a splendid Bank Holiday filled with family fun!
Discover uninterrupted cycle and walking trails, take a tour around the Castle, explore the beautiful gardens and burn off energy in the Adventure Playground!
Half Term
Monday 26 – Thursday 29 May
Bring the children during half term to enjoy the Adventure Playground, or set up on the lawns for the day with your picnic and a game of rounders.
The March Hare Tea Trailer will be open as well as our Farm Shop so you can take home a souvenir to commemorate your visit!
BCC Ride and Drive
Sunday 01 June
Visit today and watch carriages being pulled by horses down the North Avenue as part of BCC Ride & Drive.
Included in your Park & Gardens ticket, we advise you to arrive between 11am and 2pm to see the horses.

Vintage Speed Trials

Vintage Speed Trials returns! A celebration of pre-war motorsport, set within the historic Grimsthorpe Estate. An event devoted to reviving the spirit of pre-war speed trialling which began in the old deer park at Grimsthorpe Castle in 1903.

The British inappropriate motorcycle race and festival in motion! A non-stop celebration of the speed, music and art of motorcycle culture.
